iPad will not close book!

I am in trouble with Stanza:

I cannot close out the book I am reading on my iPad desktop. It seems impossible to return to the main page. What can I do to get there?

which main page? the apps

which main page? the apps menu or the library.
To return to the library: tap once on middle of page, this brings up the menu bars. Tap the triangle pointing to the left on top left and you should get there.

To return to the apps menu just click the round button on front of the Ipad (towards the bottom) and you should get there
